Drew Correa interviewed on KiwiBox.com

June 2nd, 2009 | By Mike Banger

Producer of Lil Wayne’s two smashes “Mr. Carter” and “Prom Queen” plus countlesss mixtape and unreleased tracks. I was interning at Studio Center when Drew started working with Lil Wayne session. Disguised as an engineer Drew Correa infiltrated the industry with his production. I never studied to be in the recording field and how I got to work at that studio with him is still a mystery to me since I never got interviewed. Anyways, I learned a lot from just being around him and a few others. Drew Correa’s beats are always different and always fire. Check him out!

ARTOFFICIAL WINS THE GRAMMY SHOWCASE!

June 2nd, 2009 | By Mike Banger

That’s right they are the champions of the Grammy Showcase. Here’s some footage of their performance  at the event. These guys are probably one of the best live performing bands in South Florida regardless of my involvement. I do have the pleasure of recording, editing, looping, tweaking , and mixing all there stuff in the studio. I go mega in with ArtOfficial because they don’t sound like anyone else and the combination of instruments really lets me enjoy mixing some traditional shit for once  in a very modern fashion. I know what they are after too so I keep it moving with my own decisions which they usually trust. Bass harmonies anyone? Not on this one Ralph please. I gotta say these are some fun recording sessions and I enjoy watching great musicians bump heads. Congrats on the wins gentlemen.

Young Twinn, Whats all this Jive about?

June 1st, 2009 | By Mike Banger

So if you didn’t already know. Young Twinn does his thing deal or no deal. In this case its an actual deal in real life though not a TV show. I’ve kept up with Twinn since before he had an original track out and got him in the studio years ago early on in both of our careers. I produced his first single and since then he’s managed to work with Jim Jonsin, Pleasure P, Willie Da Kid, Sean Kingston, and Lloyd to name a few. His web following is pretty ridiculous for a somewhat new act and I’de say he drives the ladies wild. The way he reps Texas will drive the cinnamon rolls out of business.

bigtexassmall-1I always heard something in him and found him to be very dedicated and disciplined. He always rips through songs when we record with no distractions. Young Twinn is one of the few people I’ve worked with who actually doesn’t party much in the studio. Either way I’m bout it though Twinn so lets pop some bottles on the mixing board for once and watch the sparks fly for Jive homie! YES! Its official Young Twinn inks with Jive! Hear his new single which I recorded and mixed  ”Fadamsho” produced by Mr. Inkredible on our front page player. Check out his underground video “Houston Texas” if you havent seen it below.

Bootleg Supras? WTF?

June 1st, 2009 | By Mike Banger

shoesfeatured

I’de say Supras are more expensive than your average skate shoe, but the truth is they are one of the most comfortable shoes and they are quickly becoming a classic. Still the price tag on these isn’t pushed to the designer extremes like Creams or Bapes. Why on earth would someone want to bootleg Supras? The not so new models can be found on sale from 50 to 100 bucks more or less. Yall niggas is extr mega ultra cheap. GET YOUR MONEY RIGHT! Below is some bootleg info directly from Supra:

So you found a sweet deal on some Skytops on Ebay or a sketchy website? It sounds to good to be true, but you order ‘em anyway. Unfortunately, when they finally get to your door months later they look like shit then fall apart after you walk about two blocks. Guess what? You just got faked!

The good news is that it’s pretty damn easy to tell the real deal Supras from the counterfeit fakers. But before we jump into that, here’s some easy ways to avoid getting hustled.

1) Only Purchase Supras From Authorized Dealers.

This sounds way too simple beacuse it is. We have a huge list of legit Supra Retailers you can check right HERE. Buy from our homies and you won’t get shoes made of cardboard.

2) Mess with Ebay and unauthorized websites at your own risk.

It’s funny, because if the first sentence on a lot on Ebay or selling off websites reads something like “These are real, not counterfeit, so don’t ask!” You know they’re usually fake.

3) Be Smart

So someone is selling a bunch of the TKs Society on Ebay before the release date? Guess what, they’re not a real Supra Dealer, those are definitely fake. Same goes for that website that’s selling Supras for way cheap, because they’re cheap fakes. If it sounds to good to be true it almost always is.

4) Ask us!

If you see something on Ebay or a sketchy website deal email us a link and we’ll let you know if it’s fake. For serious, contact us HERE for the answer.

Hiphoper recently did an article about how bad the fakes were, here are some images and explanations from that article.

Starting with the boxes, the counterfeiters always use cheap cardboard and get the graphics wrong, the Supra Crown is obviously missing from the fake and is missing the barcode.

As well as being made from cheap plastic instead of leather, the fake on the right has an embossed crown all wrong and no metal eyelets for the laces. That way they save money, the lace holes stretch and rip out, and you look bad.

The most obvious things about these bread loafs is they usually can’t afford to use real vulk soles, and then they actually paint the black stripes on by hand. Yeah, super ghetto.

And finally pull out those soles. If you got some crappy paper thin cardboard insert instead of our cushy sole with our gel cushion, well, not only do your shoes look bad, your feet are going to hurt.Anyway, we feel like we owe it to you guys to let you know how to avoid getting got with these fakes. Thanks for supporting us and stay tuned for some more original Supra designs coming your way!
