Drake signs to Young Money Ent.

July 13th, 2009 | By Mike Banger

Ok, so f*ck what you heard. Drake Mr “Best I Ever Had ” is nice. The nicest new rapper stepping in the game right now hands down matter of fact. Word on the streets is he’s also been writing on Dr. Dre’s long awaited Detox album. Oh and he sings pretty good too. After a bidding war it was published somewhere that he signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment for an estimated 3 million gazillion fafillion dollars. A wise decision on his part not only because of the nice chunk of change but Weezy did have him standing on a platform above sharks with freaking laser beams at the time of the offer. I guess this gets Young Money Entertainment one step closer to total world domination. Check out his songs on his myspace page below. The track “Say Whats Real” is pretty dope if its still up.

Banger on 305hiphop.com

June 3rd, 2009 | By Mike Banger

I had the chance to meet Miami’s web pioneer Banks from 305hiphop on facebook. Here’s part of the interview on his site:

Mike Banger is a music producer from Miami that is making a name for himself with each beat he tracks. He recently caught our attention with the production on Jacki-O’s single “Baby Mama” for her latest album “Lil Red Riding Hood“, in which Mike banged out some other tracks. In this interview he lets us know a little more about himself and even teaching us how he makes a beat.

305hiphopbang

Yo Mike, what it is? Yo you produced that Jacki-O - Baby Mama track? That’s a BANGER for real!
Yea man thanks! I did a few on that new album and alot of the mixtape stuff. Thats my homegirl.

Besides Jacki-O, who else have you worked with?
I’ve worked with with Shonie, Brisco, The Dey, Lumidee, Curren$y, I did a Trick Remix, I was Ross’s engineer. I was at Poe Boy for a bit. I’ve been laying kinda low from the scene working hard in the studio getting ready to make some noise.

You got a project on the way? How long have you been producing for?
I been at it for about 6 years behind the scenes interning at alot of studios. That was my way in really but its been tough since I never went to school……………

ARTOFFICIAL WINS THE GRAMMY SHOWCASE!

June 2nd, 2009 | By Mike Banger

That’s right they are the champions of the Grammy Showcase. Here’s some footage of their performance  at the event. These guys are probably one of the best live performing bands in South Florida regardless of my involvement. I do have the pleasure of recording, editing, looping, tweaking , and mixing all there stuff in the studio. I go mega in with ArtOfficial because they don’t sound like anyone else and the combination of instruments really lets me enjoy mixing some traditional shit for once  in a very modern fashion. I know what they are after too so I keep it moving with my own decisions which they usually trust. Bass harmonies anyone? Not on this one Ralph please. I gotta say these are some fun recording sessions and I enjoy watching great musicians bump heads. Congrats on the wins gentlemen.

Young Twinn, Whats all this Jive about?

June 1st, 2009 | By Mike Banger

So if you didn’t already know. Young Twinn does his thing deal or no deal. In this case its an actual deal in real life though not a TV show. I’ve kept up with Twinn since before he had an original track out and got him in the studio years ago early on in both of our careers. I produced his first single and since then he’s managed to work with Jim Jonsin, Pleasure P, Willie Da Kid, Sean Kingston, and Lloyd to name a few. His web following is pretty ridiculous for a somewhat new act and I’de say he drives the ladies wild. The way he reps Texas will drive the cinnamon rolls out of business.

bigtexassmall-1I always heard something in him and found him to be very dedicated and disciplined. He always rips through songs when we record with no distractions. Young Twinn is one of the few people I’ve worked with who actually doesn’t party much in the studio. Either way I’m bout it though Twinn so lets pop some bottles on the mixing board for once and watch the sparks fly for Jive homie! YES! Its official Young Twinn inks with Jive! Hear his new single which I recorded and mixed  ”Fadamsho” produced by Mr. Inkredible on our front page player. Check out his underground video “Houston Texas” if you havent seen it below.
